Installation Guidelines

Proper surface preparation and application pressure are essential to achieving the strongest bond.

1. Prepare the Surface

For best adhesion, surfaces must be clean and dry.

Remove all dust, oils, wax, and contaminants before applying tape.

Recommended cleaning method:

  • Wipe the surface using isopropyl alcohol
  • Allow the surface to fully dry before application

Dirty or contaminated surfaces can significantly reduce bonding strength.

2. Apply the Tape

  1. Cut BeeBond tape to the desired length.
  2. Apply the tape to the first surface and press firmly.
  3. Remove the liner backing.
  4. Align the second surface carefully before bonding.

Avoid stretching the tape during application.

Tape stretch should not exceed 4%, as excessive stretching may reduce performance.

3. Apply Pressure

Firm pressure is required to create full contact between the adhesive and the bonding surface.

Recommended guideline:

Approximately 15 psi of momentary pressure across the bond line.

Pressure activates the adhesive and improves wet-out of the surface.

4. Prevent Air Bubbles

When applying tape:

  • Press evenly from one end to the other
  • Avoid trapping air pockets
  • Apply consistent pressure along the entire bond line

Proper installation ensures maximum adhesion strength.

Product Overview

BeeBond™ is a high-performance double-sided acrylic foam tape designed for permanent bonding of many common materials. The conformable foam core allows the tape to absorb stress, distribute load evenly, and bond surfaces without the need for screws, nails, or rivets.

BeeBond provides strong adhesion to a wide variety of surfaces including:

  • Painted metals
  • Glass
  • Plastics such as PC and PMMA
  • Aluminum and metal panels
  • Coated or powder-coated surfaces

The tape is manufactured using UV-cured acrylic foam technology, providing strong resistance to heat, weather, and moisture while maintaining long-term bonding performance.

Common applications include:

  • Automotive trim and accessory mounting
  • Solar panel mounting components
  • Electronics assembly
  • Construction materials and panels
  • Signage and displays
  • Home improvement and DIY projects
  • Interior and exterior mounting applications

Shear Strength

Dynamic shear testing (25 mm × 25 mm sample):

  • Approx. 7.0 – 7.5 kgf/cm² after 24 hours

Shear strength measures the tape’s ability to resist sliding forces along the bonded surface.

Adhesion Performance

BeeBond acrylic foam tape is engineered to provide strong bonding performance across a wide range of conditions.

Manufacturer testing shows the following performance characteristics:

180° Peel Adhesion (Stainless Steel – STS-304)

After 30 minutes:

  • Approx. 1.55 – 1.75 kgf/cm

After 72 hours:

  • Approx. 1.90 – 2.10 kgf/cm

Bond strength increases over time after application as the adhesive continues to wet out the surface.

Surfaces That Require Testing

While BeeBond works well on many surfaces, some materials may require additional evaluation before use.

Examples include:

  • Very low surface energy plastics
  • Surfaces with oils, waxes, or mold release agents
  • Highly textured or porous materials
  • Silicone-treated surfaces

Users should always test the tape on their specific materials before full application.

Performance Characteristics

BeeBond acrylic foam tape is designed to provide strong bonding performance under a wide range of environmental conditions.

Key characteristics include:

  • Excellent adhesion to metals, glass, and plastics
  • Strong resistance to heat and weather exposure
  • Conformable foam core that adapts to uneven surfaces
  • Increased bond strength over time after application
  • Vibration and stress absorption

The foam carrier helps distribute load across the bonded area while maintaining flexibility.

Working Temperature

For optimal performance:

Recommended application temperature:

20°C – 27°C (68°F – 80°F)

Avoid installing tape in extremely cold conditions, as adhesive wet-out may be reduced.

Storage Conditions

For best shelf life and performance:

  • Store tape in a cool, dry environment
  • Avoid direct sunlight
  • Recommended storage temperature: 15°C – 27°C (59°F – 80°F)

Safety & Handling

Always review product safety information before use.

Users should evaluate whether the product is appropriate for their specific application and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.

BeeBond tape should be handled according to standard industrial adhesive handling practices.

Important Notice

Product performance may vary depending on the materials being bonded, surface preparation, environmental conditions, and application method. Users are responsible for determining the suitability of the product for their intended application and for performing appropriate testing before use.

BeeBond and its distributors are not liable for damages resulting from improper installation, misuse, or failure to follow recommended application guidelines.
