The BeeBond application guide
Everything on this page comes from BeeBond's own packaging and technical data sheets — the same instructions that ship with every roll.
Before you start
- Surfaces clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, and residue.
- Application temperature above 50 °F; ideal 68–80 °F (Clear) or 68–104 °F (Black).
- Tape sized to the job — see the Tape Calculator tables.
The method
- Clean with isopropyl alcohol; allow to dry completely.
- Apply tape to the back of the object; press firmly to ensure full contact.
- Remove the protective liner and position the item carefully.
- Press firmly and evenly — at least 15 seconds (Clear) or about 20 seconds (Black), at roughly 15 psi momentary pressure.
- Apply pressure from one end to the other to prevent air bubbles.
- Allow 24 hours for maximum adhesion strength to develop.
Pro tips
- Mount objects close to the surface to reduce leverage and long-term stress.
- For faster bonding, apply firm, even pressure across the entire tape area.
- Do not stretch the tape more than 4% during application.
- Avoid repositioning once applied — plan the placement, then commit.
- Use additional tape for uneven or painted surfaces.
The numbers behind it
Adhesion builds with dwell time: on stainless steel, 180° peel rises from 1.55 to 1.90 kgf/cm (Black) and from 1.10 to 1.55 kgf/cm (Clear) between 30 minutes and 72 hours. That is why the 24-hour cure matters — the bond you load on day two is stronger than the one you set on day one.
Do not use on items that could cause injury or damage if they fall. Test before full use.
