What BeeBond bonds — and what it won't
BeeBond bonds best to clean, smooth, high-surface-energy materials. In plain terms: surfaces a drop of water spreads across instead of beading up on are the surfaces tape can grab. Waxy-feeling plastics that water beads on — polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) — are low-energy, and no acrylic foam tape bonds to them reliably, including ours.
Bonds well
- Glass — the recommended surface for Clear; excellent for both colors.
- Metals — stainless steel, aluminum, and metal panels.
- Marble and sealed stone, ceramic and tile.
- ABS and rigid plastics — and for Black, most plastics excluding PE and PP.
- Smooth sealed painted surfaces — fully cured paint only.
- Automotive panels and trim (Black).
Do not use on
- Polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP)
- Silicone or rubber materials (Clear)
- Textured, dusty, or unfinished walls; wallpaper; rough plaster; chalky paint
- Oily, dirty, or uneven surfaces
- Delicate finishes (Black)
Prep by surface
Every surface: wipe with isopropyl alcohol, dry completely, then apply. Porous or contaminated surfaces reduce adhesion — if a surface sheds dust or chalk when wiped, it is not ready. Painted surfaces must be smooth, sealed, and fully cured.
