Apply BeeBond in six steps
Good bonds are made in the prep, not the press. Follow these steps and BeeBond acrylic foam tape does the rest.
- Clean. Wipe both surfaces with isopropyl alcohol and let them dry completely. Dust, oil, and residue are the top cause of failed bonds.
- Cut. Size the tape to the load and surface using the sizing tables on the product pages or the Tape Calculator. Cut to length before you peel anything.
- Apply. Lay the tape on the part without stretching it — never more than 4% stretch. Keep the liner on the exposed side until the part is positioned.
- Press. Press firmly across the entire bond area — about 15 psi momentary pressure. For Clear, hold at least 15 seconds; for Black, about 20 seconds.
- Position. Remove the liner, align the part, and set it in one motion. Work pressure from one end to the other to push out air and prevent bubbles. Avoid repositioning once applied.
- Cure. Allow 24 hours for maximum bond strength before loading the joint. Strength builds after application — peel adhesion at 72 hours is measurably higher than at 30 minutes.
Conditions matter: apply above 50 °F. Ideal application temperature is 68–80 °F for Clear and 68–104 °F for Black. Mount objects close to the surface to reduce leverage and long-term stress.
